
It's that time of year again! The holidays can be an awesome time for racing facilities and the retail sector at large. The sheer amount of marketing, decorating, buzz and discounting around this time of year can make any venue owner/operator reach for the egg nog. With familes traveling the globe to see relatives, there should hopefully be an influx of kids and grown-ups alike looking for some family fun in your area over the coming weeks. So how can you maximize on this time of giving and family fun?
That's why we're here! (no, we don't have free egg nog at the Club Speed® Headquarters. We prefer Tequila anyways)
Club Speed® is a great tool for helping you manage these crazy times. I'll quickly outline some essential aspects of our software suite that can ease your holiday rush and make sure you maximize your profits so you can take that January holiday to the tropics sans the guilt.
Gift cards and holidays go together like sugar and spice. At some point everyone has come to the realization that they have no idea what to get their friend, son, daughter, significant other, etc. and reached for the tried and true gift card. Racing facilites have a distinct advantage in that the purchaser has atleast given some thought to where the giftee might actually enjoy spending the gift.
Capitalize on this by using and marketing your built-in gift card system in Club Speed®. You can prepackage gift cards with hats, t-shirts, stickers, or whatever low cost, items you can gather as it adds a more attractive package for someone looking to give the gift. Just handing over a plastic card can sometimes feel a little shallow to some (not me, fork over the goods, were going on a spree!).
Gift cards are a double dip of fun, you get the money upfront and moreover a large marjority of cards go forever unused. Just be cognizant of your local, state or federal rules on how to report unused giftcards and the impacts on your financials.
Now is the time to market yourself! Well, you should already be active in marketing your facility, but reminding parents, freinds, family, husbands and wives that an easy, fun and excited holiday present is only a couple minutes away will always reap you some dividends. This is sort of a no brainer, but worth adding. I forgot my phone at home this morning...you might have forgotten to send your marketing campaign.
You might also think about using our customer spending report to see what customers have spent the most money with you that year. Sending them a nice hand written card to let them know that you sincerely appreciate the buckets of money they spend at your facility will not only warm the cockles of their hearts, but will ensure they come looking your way the next time they want to have a full facility closure.
A holiday racing league can help bring in some added business and help build some brand loyalty with your customers. Greeting them by name, getting to know them and making them feel welcome is of course, always a good idea if you can swing it. But hosting a holiday cup can help bring people in durning a time of year that people are more opening to sharing. You can give out trophies with holiday themes, or a plaque on the wall with each years winners name on it. People love to see their own name.
